Week 4 - AR Markers

Top Left: Overall View                     Middle: Section             Top Right: Interior Space
Bottom Left: Environment Site        Middle Perspective         Bottom Right: Animation

Overall View
A nice easy first marker to represent the model overall view of the development at a birds eye perspective. This will show the exterior architecture of my design

Section
In image of an apple and knife revealing the inside by a section. Here this marker will show a section of the building to reveal design, structure and space.

Interior Space
This marker shows a person under shelter in a box symbolises interior space. Interior space will show the atmosphere created by the architecture of the building

Environment Site
Similar to Overall View marker, this will show the relationship between the architecture and its surrounding environment/site.

Perspective
Gives the model a measurable view so we can make judgement on the scale of the architecture. It purpose is similar to interior space, allow to make sense of the design viewed from ground level.

Animation
Shows a short animation between the relationship of the user and architecture.

Week 3 - Studio Task

Inspiring Video

I wanted to post this up because BuildAR is about the communication between its users, client and designer. Later I do hope I find ways to incorporate this interactivity into my project in the near future as a way to allow us to understand just by observation.

Week 2 - Independent Study

Endless Tower - CityLife Skyscraper
Arata Isozaki: Endless Tower, Milan, 21 Jun 2011
This project possesses pure movement of modernism incorporated into the design to represent Milan, Italy where the country is known for design, art and history such as Ferrari, Gucci and Colosseum.
Here we see 3 different vertical towers architecturally design with strong ingenuity uses of 3 material, reinforced concrete, steel and glass .

Clusters in the Air
Arata Isozaki: City In the Air
This concept came across in a discussion when I was doing my diploma in TAFE by my teacher on solutions of built cities/planning.
It's metabolism at its best. The problem of a congested country in Japan, this was Arata Isozaki solution. This approach allows to minimize environmental impact of sunlight and wind and yet occupy the growing human population whilst reducing it's footprint on all factors.

Marilyn Chair
Arata Isozaki: Marilyn Chair
I didn't want to just research just architectural buildings by Arata Isozaki, I wanted to have a range of designs that would expand environment, inspiration and functions in my design. The Marilyn chair is an icon of Japanese modern design. The Marilyn chair was actually created for use in the executive offices of a Japanese bank in Tendo, Japan 1973. Part of the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Week 1 - Studio Task

Japanese Architect - Arata Isozaki

(born July 23, 1931, Oita, Kyushu, Japan) Japanese avant-garde architect. He studied at the University of Tokyo and opened his own studio in 1963. His first notable building is the Oita Prefectural Library (1966), which shows the influence of the Metabolist school. In his later works, which often synthesize Eastern and Western elements, he used bold geometric forms and frequently made historical allusions. Among his innovative structures are the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (1986) and Art Tower (1990) in Mito, Japan.
Isozaki worked under Kenzo Tange before establishing his own firm in 1963. He was awarded the RIBA Gold Medal in 1986.

Influences & Style

Isozaki's "style" has in fact been a series of modes that have come as a response to these influences. As a young architect he was identified with Metabolism, a movement founded in Japan in 1960.
